Todays Walking Rune: The Bears Paw.

image

The king of the forest, respected by man and beast alike, the Bear is at the top of the food chain, only vulnerable to the armed hunter… but even the bear must tred carefully sometimes, a thorne in the soft pad of its paw can bring this king down and the only help may be through the very beings who can bring them harm, humans with a passion to maintain our wildlife and natural habitats many of them ex poachers and hunters themselves.

We all have vulnerabilities and points where we are  easily harmed, the Bears Paw asks us to take a risk,  reach out when we need to be heard, to share even when we are fearful of the response… the message is you are strong but you dont have to be alone and invulnerable.  Increasingly the world is understood to work through complex, interconnections and relationships that grow and develop. As we learn more about ourselves and the others we share this fragile sphere with, we learn compassion for all.  The Bears Paw symbolises the importance of understanding our own vulnerable spots and how important it is share  our struggles in order to be seen as whole…  and to begin the healing process around the world, gradually more and more hunters are turning their attention towards the welfare of the animals they hunt, becoming wardens and custodians…
Alow someone to care about you today…

“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.”

Henri Nouwen

Take care 😉 Andy
